Choose Your Own Maths Presentation

Our class has been working on a maths presentation which we have to present to our class. We had to choose a subject in maths (mine is dividing fractions) which we are not good at or that we have to improve on. We then had to make a question relating to the subject you chose. You also had to write an explanation which explains how to get the answer to your question. You also had to write why you chose that subject. Here is my presentation….

Q: There were 1000 oranges in a store, 250 were sold. What fraction of the oranges were left?

A: ¾ were left.

Explanation: First you had to do 1000 divided by 250 which is 4 because there were 250 oranges sold. You then have to do 250 times 3 which is 750 and 750 is the same as 75 over 100 which is ¾! But there is also a simpler way. Just do 1000 – 250 which is 750 which is again equal to 75 over 100 which is ¾!

Why I chose this subject: I chose this subject because I wanted to improve my knowledge in this area.

I’m loving your blog. I think your question is a bit easy but what do I know. ;-)
